The Fighting Children’s Cancer Foundation, with
the support of the family of Howard Honigfeld, has established a
scholarship fund to help children who are cancer survivors, further
their dreams of achieving higher education.
Howard has been a steadfast supporter of the
Fighting Children’s Cancer Foundation since our formation.
In early 2002 Howard completed the first round of his own
battle against cancer.
Recognizing the emotional and physical toll the fight took on his
whole family, he became committed to doing everything he could to
support our Mission. As
a member of our Board of Directors he worked tirelessly to raise
funds, raise awareness, and shape the vision of the Foundation for
the years ahead.
Howard understood personally the unique
challenges a cancer survivor faces and wanted to do something that
would help when he was no longer able to.
Along with his daughter Kim Ashton, Howard initiated the idea
of a scholarship fund that would continue to open doors for a child
- doors cancer was not able to close.
In early 2011, the criteria for a scholarship and
the application process will be published.
Recipients for the Fall 2011 term will be announced on March
26th at the FCCF Dinner Dance.
